Marquis Who's Who Honors Suphy Lai Kung for Excellence in Entrepreneurship

Suphy Lai Kung serves as the founder and chief executive officer of GillyGro

CAMPBELL, CA, February 25, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Suphy Lai Kung has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Ms. Kung is the founder and chief executive officer of GillyGro, which creates adult-friendly backpacks that allow for flexibility, storage and organization to make it easier for parents to keep their children safe. As the owner of the company, she is responsible for ensuring sufficient cash flow and making strategic, customer-centered decisions to drive the business forward. She is also affiliated with the Worldwide Women's Association and the Women's Business Enterprise National Council, demonstrating her dedication to empowering current and aspiring female business owners.

Ms. Kung's journey into entrepreneurship began after a challenging period in corporate America, during which she was laid off in 2019. Inspired by a YouTube advertisement about an individual who became an Amazon seller after facing employment difficulties, she launched the company Aspiring Solutions by buying products wholesale from Alibaba and selling them on Amazon. The inspiration and experience gained from these endeavors eventually led to the creation of her own brand, GillyGro.

Before venturing onto her entrepreneurial path, Ms. Kung served as a senior program manager for operations training and organization effectiveness at Tesla from 2018 to 2019. In this capacity, she led the development of key training and operations objectives and collaborated with production leaders and stakeholders. Her expertise in these areas was also developed during her tenure as a senior manager for sales operations, training and performance effectiveness at Shanghai Disney Resort from 2015 to 2016.

From 2012 to 2015, Ms. Kung was the consulting director for operations enablement and organization effectiveness at KeyLogic Consulting Group. Her career in human resources development began with her role as a manager for sales enablement and organization effectiveness from 2008 to 2011. A major milestone during this period was her time with Bayer Pharmaceuticals, where, as a behavioral consultant, she played a crucial role in improving sales performance by 20 percent across Greater China through customized sales and marketing behavioral change initiatives.

Ms. Kung's success across multiple fields stems from her equally accomplished academic background, which includes a Master of Arts in human resources development from the University of Maryland and a Bachelor of Arts in hotel and restaurant management from Washington State University. Additionally, she is certified as a scrum master by SCRUMstudy and as a behavioral interviewer by Development Dimensions International. Her faith has been a guiding force throughout her career, providing strength and direction as she navigated the competitive retail marketing landscape.

In addition to her professional achievements, Ms. Kung is actively involved in civic organizations. She serves as a Stephen Minister with Stephen Ministries and is a group leader with Bible Study Fellowship. Her commitment to community service extends to volunteering as a mentor with Mothers Together, where she supports women in various stages of motherhood.

Outside of her professional life, Ms. Kung is the proud mother of one son and is fluent in Tagalog, Mandarin, Taiwanese, German and English. Looking to the future with optimism, she plans to continue expanding her influence by launching a new platform with friends aimed at creating a supportive community for Mandarin-speaking women worldwide. The initiative will include podcasts, social learning cell groups, and workshops addressing issues such as healthy relationships, career development and work-life balance with the mission of fostering happy families globally.
