I don’t like to give advice to new parents, mainly because that’s annoying. Which is probably odd coming from someone who has made a career out of giving advice to parents. One on one, I’m not a fan of offering unsolicited advice. But you’ve probably come here today to seek some advice about baby gear. Whether you are buying for yourself or someone else, here’s a list of suggested items.
The GillyGro 5 in 1 Backpack is the luxury of baby bags. This backpack evolves as the baby grows. New parents will appreciate the versatile backpack that includes a portable changing station. Once the baby moves into the toddler years, the backpack converts into a baby seat. I started using the backpack as a camera bag, because the hard shell of the seat protects my gear.

Parents can bring the party to the potty and don’t need all the bells and whistles. I potty trained 4 kids and all you need is a lightweight potty. This potty chair is perfect.
If you’re planning on having more than one kid, or have money to spend on a high chair, the Per Perego Siesta High Chair is one to invest in. It’s durable and will last. The rolling wheels are a nice touch when you got to move the chair around to clean up after your messy kid.

I’ve been using Baby Bjorn products from day one of being a dad. I can’t complain about any of their products. I loved their travel cribs and used them often. I have always traveled a lot, and most of the times traveled with a baby. You need nothing grandiose when traveling with a baby. Keep it simple and comfy. The Baby Bjorn travel crib is one to have in mind before a trip. Or a great one to keep at the grandparents’ house.
I picked up this bouncer when my 4th kid was a baby. It was such a sanity saver and on those rare occurrences when someone asked me for a pointer; I talk about this Baby Bjorn bouncer. I even took it camping when my daughter was a baby and it was so helpful to get her to sleep.
In my opinion, Baby Bjorn also makes the best baby carrier. All of my kids were carried around in Baby Bjorns.

For new parents that think they’ll just toss dirty diapers in with the regular garbage, let me caution you on that. Those baby poops are going to stink as they get older. Stink a lot. Diaper Genies will lock in most of the smells.
My first stroller was a beast. It was comfy, but big and heavy. These days, you can find a stroller that is comfortable and lightweight. I wish I had this Uppababy Minu V2 Travel Stroller during those days. It would have saved a lot of back pain from carrying strollers up and down subway stairs.
I loved my Bob Jogging Stroller. It helped get me out of the house all those years of being a stay-at-home dad. I loved the Bob stroller so much that it was my go-to stroller for getting around the neighborhood.
